About Me

ME

I am a designer for Interiors and Fashion, I have taught Etiquette, Modeling, Sewing, and I have produced many fashion shows.  My passion is sewing.

At age 5 my mother saw that I had a flair for style and colors so she started teaching me to sew and do hand embroidery. I then started designing and making clothes for my trolls, little Kiddles (I guess that shows my age) LOL, baby dolls, and Barbies. When I was in high school I was introduced to an incredible Home Economics teacher, Pam Baggett. She took me to an even higher level by challenging me to make lingerie, mens clothing, home dec using an industrial machine, and other techniques. I have always loved gowns so for all my Prom and Homecoming dances I would design and recreate wedding gowns for my dresses, including the hand beading. When I was older I designed and made my own wedding gown. I love to sew everything, I have even made a top for my husband’s dune buggy, now that was a challenge, LOL.

I believe that sewing is a gift that you need to continue to teach others, so I have taught many Girl Scouts to sew and continue to encourage and take some of them to a higher level. In my Blog, I want to Inspire, Encourage and Share my knowledge with others.

Beyond sewing I am a do it yourself person, whether it is painting a room or laying hard wood floors, I will try it. I will share some of these Neat Techniques, I have discovered and will continue to discover, in my blog, so if you don’t sew you still might find some useful hints.

In 1995 I was named one of Atlanta’s top 3 Romantic Designers in Atlanta Magazine.

I am a member of the American Sewing Guild, where I belong to two neighborhood groups, the Sewing Exchange and City Wide Couture.

So let’s have some fun!
